Global Reference Labs: Preparing to Lead Your Team Through Change

From major shifts in strategy to minor policy changes, we all find ourselves both leading and navigating change in the workplace. Change management is the active and intentional process of guiding change to reach a desired outcome or future state. It is an essential skill for leaders of healthy and successful organizations because it enables them to navigate transitions effectively, minimize resistance, and maximize employee engagement – allowing the business to be resilient, innovate, and evolve. Effective change management goes beyond project management and technical tasks undertaken to enact organizational changes and involves leading the people side of change within an organization.In Q2, you will complete a virtual, instructor-led course, Change Management in Action for Teams, to equip you with the IDEXX change framework, tools, and templates for you to apply at the local level. However, the purpose of this Q1 Skillsoft Journey, Preparing to Lead your Teams through Change, is meant to be a primer for that course. It will (re)introduce you to leadership topics and skills that you will apply as you lead your team through change, such as strategic thinking and influencing. It will also encourage you to build upon your knowledge from last year’s Coaching & Performance Conversations program (if applicable) and think about how you can integrate what you learned into this new context.You will complete at least 4 of the 5 tracks in the Skillsoft Journey, including the reflection prompts in your workbook. By the end of this Skillsoft Journey, you will be able to:• Summarize your leadership strengths and opportunities for further development that willenable you to successfully plan for change.• Recognize how your prior learning and experiences will aid you in leading your teamthrough change.
